i have an older phone and i want a qwerty texting phone(ex: samsung intesisty II) but my dad has to pay for the data plan which is too much is there any texting phones that cant connect to the internet so he dosnt have to get the data plan?

Most new phones have Wi-fi so as long as the place you are in has a wi-fi connection, you get Internet.
So basicly, you will always have a way to connect to the internet but it requires the wi-fi. (like if you are at statbucks or your wirless modem at home. this can be used as a gateway to the internet)
In other words. Save up to get a data plan if you want 24/7 connectivity.

actually most verizon phones dont have wifi....the only 2 that do are the KIN ONEm and KIN TWOm. I also have an upgrade in the summer and im planning on getting one of these phones. Right now i have an LG dare and i HATE it!!!! the screen is horrible for heavy txters. but anywho, some good messaging phones are the LG Octane, Pantech Jest, and Samsung Intensity two. The KINs have good features though like a really nice touch screen and camera, also both have full qwerty keyboards, and can use wifi for free. However you cant forward messages! grrr....but you can take a screen shot like on an ipod touch and just send it as a forward or picture messages. also neither phones have virtual keyboards which isnt a super big deal because they both have qwerty keyboards. hope i helped!
