what will I need to prepare for my trip to shanghai this summer?

I'm planning a trip to shanghai this summer and am looking for advice. This will be my first time leaving the country and I would be curious to know what you would recommend for doing such a trip. Any info on shots/ other things I should take care of before the trip, and helpful things to carry on the trip. Thanks!
