ban the fairness doctrine? 44 Senate Democrats vote in favor of South Carolina Republican Jim DeMint's amendment that blocks the fairness doctrine.

Yes votes supporting the ban include Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, who was the subject of howls from the right when she made statements supportive of the fairness doctrine last week on a liberal radio show. Another vote in favor of the ban came from Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown. Right-wing internet rag World Net Daily accused Brown of favoring the fairness doctrine on the same day that he voted to ban it.

What will right wing talk radio rant about now that one of their favorite conspiracy stories is going away?

Well, next rant will be that white people still have the same rights as blacks. That's a nice way of saying these lily white republicans would whine if they were white... Oh, they ARE white.. Can you say conspiracy? Democrats secretly make them white through something we put in the water while they aren't looking, but it's only put in the water in areas served by republican politicians and right wing radio talk show hosts.
To be honest..most people no longer listen to AM radio. most liberals and progressives have quit bothering with AM radio altogether unless of course listening to a baseball game on occasion. It's a MAJOR conspiracy that liberal ideas went to XM radio and the internet. By GOD we should have had our radios and internet frequencies all forced to dial into AM radio.

They did their damnedest to make sure PBS and NPR went out of business, but the public ironically supports it regardless of what they attempt.

If a talk radio host rants about something that's become irrelevant, his/her listeners will lose interest and the show will start to fail. So what's it matter to you?

Is your assumption that right wingers disproportionately fail to discern relevancy?

Can we lay the right wing rant to rest now? This has been another nonsense non-issue the Right loves to bring up just to divert attention from the real problems our country faces. Now, can we move on to fixing 8 years of mismanagement by Bush?
