...expect from a 56k modem? My computer is running a 56k modem that usually runs between 40000 and 44000 bps.
My connection manager is AT&T Dial.
My browser is Mozilla Firefox.
I usually use BitTornado as a torrent program.
I have a zone alarm free firewall.
On a good day my torrent speed is around 6 or 7 Kb/s. Same with my download speed.
What I want to know is what is considered the average speeds for this stuff so I can see if my slow downloading is a problem I can maybe fix.
Bonus Question: If the speeds listed are below the average for 56k, what sort of things could I do about it?
Before anyone says "Get high speed internet", it's not available where I live unless I want to shell out $70+ dollars a month from a satellite company.
