Starts fine, and if I don't wait a little while after starting and push on the gas it sputters and then catches itself, doesn't turn off. Ive tried in all gears and its the same thing. However, if I let it run for a little while, it doesn't do it. Its not a big issue now, I'm wondering if this is something that is an indicator of future problems.
1995 GMC Sierra. 5.7L 350.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is caused by low fuel pump pressure, or a clogged fuel filter.
When you step on the gas, you change the fuel air mixture. It now gulps air and the gas is lagging behind
Have the fuel pump pressure check and change the filter. If you can not remember the last time it was replaced, do it now. The fuel filter is the most negated filter on the car.

Sounds like engine misfire, possible causes pugs, wires, cap, rotor. Possibly the pickup coil is bad or the distributor shaft is worn.depending on your current weather conditions you may have moisture in the cap that evaporates when it warms up.
