what's a good excuse for not picking up my phone?

before winter break, my friend and i made a plan to go shopping like around new years day. but i didn't want to go so she kept calling me nonstop and left me a few messages that day and even today. i didn't pick up whenever i see her number. tomorrow is back to school and i know she's gonna ask why. what should i say?
 
why didn't you just pick it up and explain that you don't want to go shopping
you could so easily make up a reason for that

now it is harder to explain now
