What's a good thing to eat for breakfast before a cross country meet?

I know that I should eat healthy, but I want to make sure that eating a certain food won't drag me down later, you know? I'm not that educated with food.....that sounded weird. Any ideas?
 
I would suggest something with carbohydrates and protein. Eggs and sausage might be a good idea.
