i have a 2002 gmc sierra, and any links to make it easier for me to purchase this online would definitely merit a best answer!

im not talking about the plastic cover that goes right over the truck bed to keep it from scratching, im talking about the thing thats the same color as the truck, and makes it look nice, and some of them have a lock. thanks!!!

They're called truck bed covers or lids.
They can be found in various colors and with locks.
Try this site,

Also, any GMC dealer or Autoparts store can probably order it for you

Hi,
They are called Tonneau Covers and also Truck Caps.

Here is link: http://www.snugtop.com/products/tonneau_covers.php

They are very nice. I would recommend shopping around. They vary a lot in price. There are different manufacturers. SnugTop is the best, but it's also the most expensive.

I have been in the car business for almost 20 years. Us dealers call it a tupperware lid.

Hope this helps

Well i see others have already given the 10 point answer so let me just add that Smith & Wessen covers a truck bed pretty good. Doesnt come in matching color unless truck is gun metal black. About the same in price. and is totally portable. For those who have extended bed trucks i recommend the AR15 to get that extra coverage you need. Bullets sold seperately.

check out the link below, they have all types of truck bed covers. Some are the crappy plastic ones, but others are the hard tops with a lock. I believe they are called tonneau covers.

Good luck.
