iv been looking at t the stinger audio power wire and ground and some of the cables that i look at had a thick coding of ruber so its not true 1/0 gagepowere and ground

Well, most will have a somewhat thick coating of insulation. But wire is wire, even welding cable and wires from the hardware store are just fine.

The insulation should not be thicker than 1/8th inch really... stinger makes a decent product though.

I would recommend you getting wiring from www.knukonceptz.com -- they have the most strands, and its very flexible!

Actually the lower the gauge number the thicker the insulation will be. For the obvious reason. Knuconcepts is not going to be a better wire than that of Stinger. Knuconcepts is a low budget company, and there wire is not all copper. Stinger on the other hand is all 100% copper. So the stinger wire is the better wire. True 1/0 gauge wire is going to be very expensive, so be prepaired for the payment.

Wire is wire. There is NO difference in wires except they might be silver coated(which does nothing) or have a different jacket. I use welding wire, the strand count is the same, it is rated higher electrically, and thermally as well; and it's oil resistant and just as flexible. Don't forget it's normally HALF the cost of "Car Audio Wire"
