Whats the best handheld game console I can get for my 6 yr old?

For Christmas I am wondering what exactly I should get him; a PSP, DS, or what? And what is the best type exactly, XL lite, 3D or whatever I am so confused. Also what are some good games? Thanks for your help!
Also, is anyone having really good deals right now?
 
I would go with a Nintendo handheld. The games are much more child friendly.
For a 6 year old I would just get a DS because it is the least expensive, it is smaller (better for little hands) the 3D can also be hard on the eyes.
 
XL more than likely for a 6 year old as it is big, and any games such as brain games where you solve mysteries and the boy games you can look after pets such as Nintendogs and such things would be good for him.

I would say the 3Ds but judging as he is only 6, I think it may hurt his eyes and although you can turn the 3D off, the screens are not as big for little hands.
 
I would have said the PlayStation Vita, but since your son is only six, i would recommend 3DS.
 
nintendo ds eye.... my little brothers and sisters love it, and its good for any age so as he gets older he'll still love it.
 
first, buy a gameboy advance and then change to PSP and after that,change to PS Vita or X360
