What's the deal with these California college students protesting the tuition hike?

The California universities are very high quality and have been quite cheap for the value.

The problem is, CA is OUT OF MONEY. If they don't hike the rates, they'll have to increase the taxes (which are already horrendous). If they don't do either, they'll have to cut back on services, personnel, and classes at the schools even more than they already have -- decreasing the value.

The students don't seem to realize that protesting not only doesn't make more money magically appear for the school budgets, but it also costs the schools more to deal with the protests. I can forsee another rate hike just to compensate for the protest costs!

If they don't want to pay the increased fee, why don't they just go to another school? There are thousands of colleges in the US. I saw this one asian chick on tv crying and asking why Obama isn't doing something lol. Wow. These kids need to learn that Obama doesn't give a rats a$$ about them now that he was elected. He never did care. Some people need to put their faith in something a little more powerful than a half-black idiot from the south side of chicago.
Ryan, that's not true with private schools. There are some cheap private schools too.
Ed, a university education is a luxury, not a right. If they can't afford it, then they need to go to a cheaper school or just not go to college.

Because moving to another college is alot more trouble than its worth. Obviously they're protesting the fact that because of the hike they wont be able to afford an education anymore...
Watch, they'll drop outta college now and you'll post a question about lazy azz college drop outs.... Jeez dude use your brain.

You have to pay more tuition if you're going out-of-state.

Hey you shut the FK UP! those tuition fees went up way too much this year & California has one of the highest unemployment rates. EVERYTHING here costs too much right now, school is just another thing to worry about!

Edit: The stupid bastard Ryan is right too, going out of state is more money to pay. Besides, cali has better schools than those other crappy states.
