Whats the fastest and safest way I can get back to my previous fitness state?

I recently had jaw surgery. I lost 15 pounds, gained 5 pounds back (140 lbs). I use to be able to bench 225 now I can only bench 175. What the fastest and safest way for me to get back to my previous state?

I was thinking of gaining 10 pounds then converting it to muscle over time. I was thinking of buying some kind of weight gain mixture from a nutrition store. Is this a good idea? If so then whats the best weight gain mixture that I should get? If not, Why? What do you suggest? Please help me out.

You don't convert fat to muscle, oh if it were that easy just think of all the incredibly muscled people you'd see! The fastest way back to your previous form is hard work outs and consistency.
