What's the most effective workout routine?

I know some people do chest and triceps one day, back and biceps another day, and legs another day while going to the gym 4-5 days a week. On the other hand, some people do upper body one day and lower body another day. I'm a skinny 17 year-old, 6'1" and 150 lbs. What's the best weekly routine that will help me build some serious muscle mass in two months during summer break?
