What's wrong with my Bit Torrent?

I used to have Bit Torrent downloaded on my Macbook and for some reason I put it in the trash and got rid of it. But now I'm trying to download it again from bittorrent.com and it's not working. I'm doing it just like I did the first time, but now once the download is complete I click on it and it comes up as a bunch of weird, foreign texts. It doesn't open or ask me to move to the app section or anything. Why is this?!?!
