...understanding? They talk about thermodynamics and a complex universe but you can tell that they don’t understand what they’re talking about. Parrots don’t understand what they’re talking about either; they just blurt out words that they’ve been trained to repeat. This behavior is similar to a lot of TV intellectuals on the right and the left. They plagiarize so much of what other people write and when they get interviewed by their opposition and they have to think on their feet, they’re lost for words because they’ve never had to think; they’ve just plagiarized so often. Do you know what I’m talking about?

When creationists lose an argument (happens every time) I am reminded of playing chess with a pigeon.

It sees that it's losing.

It squaks and flaps around, knocking all the pieces off the board.

It shi*s on the board.

It flies away, claiming victory.

It's just like most things in the religious arena. If it's not in the little black book, then it doesn't need to be explained or even understood. They can simply read or be taught what to say, and then go about regurgitating it at the appropriate moment. They don't study the things that are proven, but they sure can spout things that are speculative at best. They have no answers to direct questions except for the regurgitated words. In this case, a little info can be a bad thing. From what I've seen, they think of people like Darwin, Einstein and Stephan Hawking as the Antichrist, even though they were and are some of the most genius minds in all of history. How can they really understand things when their teachers fill their heads with nonsense?
