When did people decided Chicken Wings should be Served as a DISH and be

eaten with out the rest of the chicken? I know chickens have wings but where did chicken wings as an actually thing you could order start???
 
not all that long ago and wasn't the chefs it was greedy well you know would have been used for cat or dog food sorry did like to nibble on them , and seems its now nice starter ...goodness knows what our pets are eating now ..

ClanDest, I beg to differ, but I remember when I was a youngster, and I am over the half century now, that we were able to buy wings. My mother used to bake, grill/broil, southern fried even had them in chicken casseroles.
 
When the chefs were sick of throwing away the wings because nobody wanted to eat them. So they created a special dish using just that part to market them. 1964
