When i connect my samsung rant to my MAC it is not recognized by my computer....

...How can I fix this issue? I have a MAC and when I connect my Samsung rant to my Mac it wont recognize it. Help.
 
First of all, MAC is a makeup company.
Anyway, my pet peeves aside, try connecting via bluetooth as many phones do not work with macs when connected via USB. Do do this go to system preferences, then click bluetooth, and click add new device.
