when i drive at 55mph my stearing wheel starts to shake fast and when i pass it it stops to shake what is wrong with the car?

You may have lost a wheel weight, check your wheels. I had the same problem on my last car.

it could be ur u joint or u could just have some flat spots on ur tires. but im no mechanic

You would need to inspect various things to isolate the cause. Posible causes are....
-severely warped brake rotor---would be suspect if vibration increased upon braking
-Bad wheel bearing(s)---- woudl be suspect if wheel play was found on every axis of the wheel when wiggled while not in contact with the ground, though sometimes not wheel play is found even with a bad bearing.
-Wheel imballance--suspect only from the vibration itself, must remove and rebalance to confirm
-Steering components not secure, tie rods/link---indicated by freeplay of movement in wheel left to right, excess outside/inside wear on tires, or freeplay in steering
-Flat spot in tire----may not be visible, wheel balance will not correct this is usually caused by skiding the tire for a long period of time.

Thats all I can think of now.

You Probably Have "Front End" Problems, such as "Tie Rods" or "Broken Engine Mounts" or Steering Problems!
