When on vacation with kids, specifically teens, do they get their own room?

Growing up we took a trip almost every summer for a week or two. We always stayed in the same room as my parents. Usually two double beds with my parents on one and my brother and I sharing one. At times we go a suite where one of got a sofa bed and the other got the double. It was not until I went to college that I found out that some parents get their kids their own room even if there are just two kids.
I guess I am thinking of the expense of a second room. As for privacy we were so excited to be in a different city that a week or two of dressing in the bathroom didn't bother my brother or I
 
My dad would have laughed at me if I asked for my own room! We always got a room with 2 beds and I got my own, or shared it with my friend that we took along.
The first time I got my own hotel room was when I was 19 and myself and my boyfriend flew across the country to visit his mom- she took a room with her adult son, and passed her teen daughter on to stay in mine & my boyfriend's room.
 
I always shared a room with my mom, but she was a single parent. When she got married, she just got a suite with 2 bedrooms. I don't think I'll ever feel comfortable with giving my teenagers a seperate room. I was a wild teenager, so I don't really put much trust in teens.
 
some off them might masterbate etc lol unless ur a nudist i would say no since you probly havent seen there genitals if its a boy id say no but meh every family is difrent
 
We did exactly as you did growing up. Now my kids are too young to worry about that but when the times comes I'm sure we will just share a room but if there is some discount or a en suite or something that option would definitely be considered.
 
There were seven of us (five kids) so we always got two rooms, but never our "own" rooms. If I could afford it, I might let my teens have their own room.
 
My parents always get 2 rooms. We've never stayed in 1. But there had been 3 kids for a long time, and now there's 4. Most of my friends get their own hotel rooms when they're traveling with their parents, especially since lots bring friends with them. I got to go with my friend on a trip and her parents got us our own room. If you can't afford it then don't worry about it. Pay for the extra roll away beds cause teens do not want to share bed with their brother or sister.
 
When we young we shared a room and then as teen we had the attaching room with the door in between them.

When my daughter grows up, if we have another child we will do the attaching room, I guess even if it is just her we will do the same or get a suite with 2 rooms. As a teen you want privacy and think that is soo cool.
 
When we vacationed and stayed in hotels (which was rare, we usually rented a house), my parents had one room, and the kids were in the adjoining. My father refuses to have kids sleep in the same room as him. On family cruises, again my parents would be in one stateroom, and we'd be in another.

4 kids in my family.

Right now, with my kids, we all stay in the same room, for the most part. But if the hotel has adjoining rooms or family suites, we get those. I have 3 kids, ages 7 and younger.
 
As a teen my sister and I always shared one room and my parents had their own room.. I think they wanted the privacy more than we did LOL... It was always two rooms attached by a closeable door, never down the hall or on another floor or anything like that.
 
That is expensive and kind of like lettign the inmates run the asylum! Depends on the tennagers, the cost and the situation
