I was looking into bulimia for one of my essay topics and came across that throwing up is one of the "signs" of bulimia.
I was wondering..
*How practical is purging (throwing up) in losing weight?
Those who suffer from bulimia tend get into the cycle of binging and throwing up. If one was to eat an entire cake (only hypothetically. One would pass out if tried in reality!!) and throw up afterwards, what would be his total calorie consumption (proportional to the entire cake)? It's not like the entire cake is going to come out again, right? Only a small portion would be out, right?
*Would it be more of a ... psychological thing? just to make himself feel less guilty about eating so much.
Or do they really lose weight from purging??
Thanks!
