When you under power by 50 watts would you be able to tell the difference ?

SVC 4 ohm subs 300 cont and 700 peak

I need the 500 watts, I really don't want 250 unless the 50 watts im not pushing isn't going to make a difference. If i am only able to push at 250.. which is 50 watts less than what i want.. would that make a difference?
