should it show up on your wage slip.some of us at work have worked all the bank holidays, and we have only just found out of the top manager over are manager that we should get days in lieu,,are manager never told us this ,we never got double time for any bank holidays.we allways thought she was up to something as she should of done her fair share and she didnt ..we challenged her about this and she said it wouldnt show up on your wage slip that you get a day in lieu.does anyone know if it should show up anywere on our wage slips

These should be agreed before you work the bank holiday. It will be written in your contract. Until you get this down in writing, refuse to work anymore bank holidays.

Most people would either be paid double time for working a Bank Holiday or be paid normal rate plus being entitled to a day off in lieu. You should have a contract of employment that makes all this kind of thing clear; if you haven't got a contract or statement of terms and conditions that's illegal and you must get it sorted out with top management. In answer to your question, no, there's no reason why a day in lieu should show up on your wage slip, but it should have been added to your holiday entitlement, wherever those records are kept.

It depends on your contract of employment. Some firms pay double time for bank holidays (or 1 days wages and a day in lieu), some pay time and a half, and in some occupations, i.e. care, it is just considered a normal day. Look at your company policies, procedures and guidelines. Or your company handbook. But as said, you should have a contract of employment (you would have signed a copy), and this should state your pay and conditions, including bank holiday regulations.
