whenever i download a torrent, the signal on xbox live drops to 1 bar.?

well the title kinda says it all

the xbox has a wireless reciever thingy which goes to our router which is connected to my main cabled computer.

but whenever i download a torrent on this wireless computer the signal on his xbox goes down rapidly, is there a way i can fix this?
 
Torrent downloads use a lot of bandwidth, assuming you are using uTorrent, just right click the icon in the status bar and select a max download speed setting. Set it to around half of your max downloading speed. (Test the max download speed by downloading a torrent of course)
