I was in the same situation as you. Low computer memory and a lot of movies. the search for the perfect, free, non virus, non shareware, illimited features in windows is just a huge waste of time.
my best suggestion is that you install ubuntu linux (no need to erase windows) and you will not believe how many good programs are (completely free) that will make professional DVD (even with the labels for the disc and box). If after installing ubuntu you have any questions come back here.

If you would like to convert try divx convertor from divx. com/ it will also allow you to download a different divx player a web player for online streaming divx coded videos and more software.
