Where can I learn all about guns and hunting?

I have been hunting for about 3 years but don't really know that much about guns and hunting techniques. My girlfriends dad is really into hunting and guns and i don't feel like i have anything to talk to him about. If I could sharpen up my hunting and gun knowledge it would really open a lot of doors. Thanks =]
 
Couple ways you can go about this.

One is to simply go to the local library and start reading up on hunting and guns.

The other is some evening when you are at the GF house, just tell your future Father-In-Law that you have become very interested in hunting. Then ask him how he goes about hunting a deer. After that you lean back and relax as the old man regales you with hunting stories. . ., some of which might even be true.
 
When I first got into guns a quarter century ago, I would go out and by a bunch of the gun magazines each month, and read all the articles. After a few months, I had picked up quite a bit of knowledge.
 
Read gun magazines and hunting magazines. You can get the older issues cheap usually, if not for free. You don't need the latest issues to get good knowledge. (In fact, gun writing was better in past decades, if you ask me...)
