when i was 18 at college i was member of the local Lgbt group
all we seemed to do was go to night clubs with bad intrusive music i never liked
am i on my own here or is there a silent cabal of gays who really f*cking hate clubbing
Many gay men find that "clubbing" is extremely negative. It tends to introduce self-medication with booze and drugs into a person's life who may already be having issues dealing with life due to being gay. Also, the drugs and alcohol can lead you to make stupid decisions about sex and safety. My suggestion is to go meet men one on one. There is no atmosphere like the gay bar for meeting and hooking up, but all gay men have to do laundry, work, buy groceries, pay rent, and live somewhere. Check out the laundromat. Take out a personal ad. Answer a personal ad. (I answered an ad on Craigslist to meet my new boyfriend, who is in AA and we have been dating for over a month now!!) Take a look at your friends and ask for some referrals. Check out "Lovetastic.com" really cool. Main thing is, try something other than hanging out at the tired old gay bar. Usually the people I meet in the bar are not similar enough to me to make it work well. So get out there and cruise the supermarket! Good Luck, and wish me the same!!
