Where in the Quran does it say that Islam is a religion of peace?

From what I have read of the Quran and learned about the history of the "prophet" Muhammed. There seems to be alot of violence in the history of Islam and that stems true today. I am by no means saying that any other religion is perfect but why is it that killing is "just" in certain circumstances like it says in the Quran, as long as you don't harm a fellow muslim, right?
 
I hate all religions equally so I do not mean to single out Islam bc the Bible is violent as well. Although I hate the religion I have nothing against the people, with that said the Quran does allow the harming of their fellow Muslims. If Muslims commit petty theft, fornication, or adultery (although I look down upon these acts as well I do not agree with the punishments) the punishments include hand chopping or being stoned to death---this is probably tempting to marijuana users. I truly feel sorry for the Muslims in the Middle East and Africa.
 
Quran is a forged book and why should anyone bother to know what is written in it?
 
Doesn't one of the Five Pillars of Islam say: You shall not kill?
 
When a Muslim declares that Islam is a religion of peace, he/she is either ignorant of the Quran, or is deceitfully thinking of this “peace”, as it extends only to those within the Muslim Community. The deceit is that they will not tell you exactly what they mean. According to the Quran: “Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah. Those who follow him are merciful to one another, but ruthless to unbelievers” Surah 9:5. Also see Surah 9:29 “Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture (Christians & Jews) as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which Allah has forbidden by his messenger, and follow not the religion of truth…”

Please note that there is not a single verse in the entire Christian Bible that contains this “open-ended”, universal command to kill/or be ruthless to unbelievers. Surah 47:4 say: “When you meet the unbelievers, smite at their necks…”
Then there is this. Muhammad produced this one to prompt those Muslims who knew in their hearts that killing innocent people is wrong: “Fighting is obligatory for you, as much as you dislike it.” Surah 2:216.

Islam, teaches that Jews and Christians both have earned the wrath of Allah by failing to follow Islam, and that they have also lost the way buy following the teachings of the Torah for the Jews, or the Bible for Christians. Additionally, this god Allah lies about Jesus. Islam says that Jesus not only is not the Son of God, but that He did not even die on a cross in Jerusalem… Allah is therefore proven to be a false pagan god… Jews also do not believe this about Jesus (Yeshua). Who will believe it? The greatest of kings. Born in the humblest of places…
God, born in the flesh! The Apostle Paul tells us that Jews have been supernaturally blinded to this by God. Yet Christians and Jews worship the same God (Yahweh) and share the Same Bible.

About 578 years before Islam came along, Christians were warned against Islam by both Jesus and the Apostle Paul. Jesus waned us about the many false prophets who would follow Hem (Matt 16:11-12f). Paul warned us when he wrote: “But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should preach a Gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be condemned to hell!” Gal 1:8).

Since Islam’s message differs fundamentally from the Gospel, it is clear what Paul taught regarding the fate of Muhammad and those who propagate Islam. Islam bypasses the sacrificial mediating work Jesus did for believers on the cross, thus negating the forgiveness of sins. This condemns non-believers to die in their sins. Jesus said; “ I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sins.” John 8:24

Jesus also predicted the current dilemma of Muslim intolerance and fanaticism He warned that the day was likewise coming when religious zealots will kill Christians and think they are offering a service to God (John 16:2-4)
 
I really wonder which religion exactly is real? Judism, buddism, islam, hinduism and christianity. The list is endless.

I know the type of sites you've been been getting your "Islamic" information from. Let me just give you an example, with the following verse.

009.005 ..fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)..

You might have seen this verse and it sounds violent doesn't it? Well, I would agree and that in this context it does. However, there are several very important things we should note here.

1. This isn't even the whole verse
2. It is not in the context of the verses directly before and after it.
3. It is further completely stripped out of Qur'an, losing any overall message of the Book.
4. We are not taking any consideration as to why this verse was revealed in the first place, nor is the historical context of the condition of the Muslims and the Prophet Muhammad (saaw) looked into.
5. And although it isn't the case in this example, there are times where the words are changed.

Now this is the whole verse:

009.005 But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

Here is the verse in its textual context:

Surah 9 - Al Tawbah THE REPENTANCE

009.001 A (declaration) of immunity from God and His Apostle, to those of the Pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances:-

009.002 Go ye, then, for four months, backwards and forwards, (as ye will), throughout the land, but know ye that ye cannot frustrate God (by your falsehood) but that God will cover with shame those who reject Him.

009.003 And an announcement from God and His Apostle, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage,- that God and His Apostle dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate God. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith.

009.004 (But the treaties are) not dissolved with those Pagans with whom ye have entered into alliance and who have not subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided any one against you. So fulfil your engagements with them to the end of their term: for God loveth the righteous.

009.005 But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

009.006 If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of God; and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because they are men without knowledge.

009.007 How can there be a league, before God and His Apostle, with the Pagans, except those with whom ye made a treaty near the sacred Mosque? As long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for God doth love the righteous.

009.008 How (can there be such a league), seeing that if they get an advantage over you, they respect not in you the ties either of kinship or of covenant? With (fair words from) their mouths they entice you, but their hearts are averse from you; and most of them are rebellious and wicked.

009.009 The Signs of God have they sold for a miserable price, and (many) have they hindered from His way: evil indeed are the deeds they have done.

im Christan and don't like the "i kill you because you are not my faith" people, then i realized the ones i see on fox news are the few not the many most Islam would not "blow you the ^&*( up" if you said your christ/jewish/ wtf ever. the worst most may do is not talk to you again. it really is a religion of faith, some people just took the words the wrong way.

In case you hadn't noticed one of the main reasons we have such poor relations with the middle east today is because thousands of years ago so called 'Holy' Christian Crusader armies from Europe attacked Muslim territories murdering hundreds of thousands (including women and children)
