Where should my husband I go for a mini-winter vacation?

We are from Texas, and are wanting to take a mini-vacation in December to see snow! We have tossed around Branson, MO or Pigeon Forge, TN. We don't want to drive more than 12 hours to get wherever we have to go, so any other ideas?? We haven't been many places, so we are pretty open! Thanks in advance...
 
Go to California and check out some of hte cities there or drive up to Nevada and spend the weekend in Vegas you can get a Vegas vacation for 3 nights for like 200$ if theres no flight.
 
I think either San Fransisco or San Diego. Unless you want a beach then check out Orient Beach in St. Martens, it's beautiful.
