When I bought my 1997 VW Passat (SE 20V 1.8L Saloon) it was missing the 'whip' part of the aerial (that screws into the port on top of the roof).
The part from the VW dealer seems expensive, but I cannot find enough information online to know whether cheaper alternatives will fit my car or not (I know that Renault Megane aerials have a different screw thread size, at least!).
Does anyone know if VW Passat have always used a standard size, or how I can tell which will fit before I buy them?
Thanks!
