Which "current event" would be an interesting speech topic?

I need to prepare a 5-7 minute speech on a current event which can be anything within the last year. I was going to speak about the business issues of Greece but I doubt the people I'm speaking to would find that to be of interest. What would you like to listen to for 5-7 minutes?
 
You need to keep your audience and its interest in mind before you give a speech. For example if you are talking to a group of business people talk about how to make a buck. If you are talking to an embroidery club you wouldn't want to talk about shoe repairs. Keep audience in mind and what interest them.
 
The Occupy Wall Street protests are big news these days,actually spreading to other countries and gaining momentum. If not that,maybe the Casey Anthony trial or the downgrading of the U.S.
by the credit rating agency Standard and Poor's.
