Which iPhone compatible bluetooth or plug-in headset should I use?

I just want to listen to music and talk to my grandpap when I'm out walking. So sound clarity and something that cuts down on wind would be nice. Comfort is also important, but I'll never wear it for more than an hour, 1-3x per week.

Lowest price possible with these features? I understand not everything pairs with the iPhone, and apparently some guzzle down battery while on bluetooth because they try to pair constantly?

A standard headphone-and-microphone that plug in is also an option, I'd just have to get an armband for the iPhone. I don't trust myself to talk on a cell phone on the car even with bluetooth, and if I did the speakerphone works better than any other phone I've had!

Also interested in cheap docking solutions for the alarm in the morning. As good as the speakerphone is for talking, I need something a bit LOUDER to wake up to! I'm beginning to suspect that a headphone jack adapter and then regular old speakers and headsets are the most economic solution.

I use the 2G, unlocked and jailbroken . . . but I doubt that makes much of a hardware difference.
