Whining Noise in Honda Trans?

What's up with the whining noise my friend's Honda makes? Is it something to be worried about? It's almost like a turbo spooling up (with some lag) it doesn't seem to affect performance and the car is otherwise fine...just wondering what that's about. btw it's a manual transmission.

It the bearings in it begining to bind. If when you depress the clutch it goes away you will certainly know its the bearings. When you let the clutch back out it will begin again. Right.

i bet it only does it in first gear and reverse too
hondas always make that weird noise in those two gears
it has something to do with the way the gears are made
dont worry all hondas do that
