The Probability of a bus stopping at school within a 20 min. window is .8 ---- 4/5 ---- 80%. What is the probability of it stopping within a 5 min. window?

(Hint or actually a more clear explanation of the riddle: So basically every 100 times you wait for the bus for 20 min., it will arrive 80 times. How many times will it arrive if you wait 5 min. ?

If is my bus, I will wait 40 minutes and then 2 buses will arrive simultaneously.

eight times in 20 minutes is to how many times in 5 minutes?

8/20 = x/5

cross multiply

40=20x

divide by 20

x= 2

it will stop 2 times, or, 20%
