Goldberg's 173-0 or Undertaker's 18-0? And why?
Prince, by 'excluding some' I'm sure you're referring to 5 Vince's talentless lovers consisted of Giant Gonzales, King Kong Bundy, Big Boss Man, A-Train, and Mark Henry, right?

Good question man honestly. 173 wins in a row vs 18 at show of shows. Even if you put it in a different perspective it's like 'what's the bigger accomplishment; a major league baseball team winning every game of the season including the playoffs or winning 18 world series in a row?'. Either way both feats are incredible and statistically and logically speaking, impossible.

Now granted everything is predetermined before hand. Before a match 173 times, they went to Goldberg and said you win this one, 18 times to the Undertaker and said streak continues. But lets get down to it.

The streak is what made Goldberg Goldberg. His streak is what defined the character of Goldberg and made him just a monster in the ring. Undertaker's character was already defined by his very first appearance at Survivor Series '91 before he even entered a Wrestlemania match. Even if it was determined that Goldberg was going to be in a 48 second or 3 minute squash match, he was expected to look tough and unstoppable and find new ways of doing it 173 times in a row which probably got taxing after the first 50 matches.

Now we look at the Undertaker. Nearly two decades of destruction, 18 wrestlemania wins in a row, the retirement of Shawn Michaels and the unprecidented love and adoration from the fans. The Wrestlemania streak has defined the Undertaker's legacy. It will be the biggest reason he gets into the hall of fame, and in my mind it's bigger than ric flair's 16 championships. Going into the Road to Wrestlemania, no matter who else is on the card that night, you know Undertaker's match is going to steal the show simply because the streak is on the line. A streak that Ric Flair, Triple H, Jimmy Snuka, Jake the Snake Roberts, Kane, Randy Orton, or the Great Shawn Michaels, all bona-fide hall of famers, hasn't been able to break.

At the end of the day when it comes down to it, I give 18-0 at Wrestlemania the nod. 173 wins in a row is quite a feat and probably will never be touched again, but then again neither will 18-0. The fact that puts the nail in Goldberg's coffin (no pun intended), is that jobbers and mid-carders and no names were included in those 173 wins. The vast majority were all squash matches intended for Goldberg to look unstoppable. The Undertaker streak was against the top names of the time (yes even Giant Gonzalez, Bundy, Boss Man, A-Train, and Henry because they were being pushed as top card competitors. Also keeping in mind the A-Train match became a 2 on 1 handicap match also involving the Big Show when Taker's partner Nathan Jones was taken out prior to the match. Bundy was a cage match and he was part of Ted Dibiase's million dollar team which gave the concern of outside interference. Boss Man was a part of Vince's Coorperation which also gave interference a concern. Mark Henry was a casket match and was given a HUGE push prior to mania).

Also the bigger fact is 18 and 0 is at Wrestlemania. And at Wrestlemania anything can happen, including ending his streak. A great match is expected at mania whereas Goldberg's matches were mostly squash matches. Plus the fact that Taker started wrestling before Goldberg and is still going strong after Goldberg retired is also a big factor. Good question brother.

the undertaker is better suited when it comes to the winning streak because it took the undertaker 18 years to make it happen. plus, wrestle-mania has been around for more than 27 years and the undertaker is the only one that an undefeated streak at wrestle-mania, which is very hard to do.

Goldberg streak in WCW was more important at the time because he was the most popular wrestler at the time and was on his way up the ladder of success......then Kevin Nash ruined everything. Let's see Undertaker has 2 against HBK, 2 against Batista, 2 against Orton, 1 against HHH, Edge, Kane.....let's see the Orton matches were meh cause Randy was green but the rest deserved to be the main event so you could say Kane was important due to story.....but the other half were weak boring matches.

Undertaker streak right now is just there because they have nothing else for him to do.....its more like "hey this guy is still popular so let him do whatever he wants"...

Its kind of like the baseball stats that sports writers and fans care so much about......but at the end of the day they eventually lose value because they found out how it happened *cough*roids*cough*politics*cough*

Should the streak end....of course it should but who gets the honor and/or will the Undertaker just retire for good instead of making sparse appearances whenever he is "healthy" enough to walk to that very ring......at this rate it will take him 15 minutes.....but at least they cover it up with the grand entrance of the smoke, pyro, druids, etc.....

The bigger streak in sports entertainment is the Undertaker the 18-0.It is way longer than the 173-0 and is more Prestiged than the Golberg one seeing that it takes only once a year. And it the 173-0 was ended horrbly by scott hall "tazzering" Goldgerg and making Kevin Nash win the title just to hand it to Hulk Hogan via the "FINGER POKE OF DOOM.

The Undertaker's Wrestlemania Record.

Goldberg's Streak was good but he faced a lot of jobbers and mid carders while The Undertaker faced all-time greats like The Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kane, Ric Flair, & many more. The Undertaker's Winning Streak is what made Wrestlemania popular than before. People would always want to know who will face The Undertaker this year or next year while in Goldberg's matches you can predict you would be the winner not saying that all of his matches were predictable, his match with Diamond Dallas Page at Halloween Havoc '98. The Undertaker's Wrestlemania Streak would sometimes be predictable like the one from Wrestlemania 22 with Mark Henry. More people prefer The Undertaker's Streak over The Winning Streak for Goldberg. Another reason why people like The Undertaker's Streak more is because it's at Wrestlemania which is the biggest Pay-Per-View of the year for WWF/E.

The Undertaker's Streak, why does anyone even remember Goldberg's streak I sure don't when ever someone mentions him that don't mention his streak, The Undertaker's streak has more prestige and is legendary, he has face alot of legends (excluding some) and future legends in his matches, most of his matches he either put over his opponent or made them look god, when people think about Wrestlemania they think about The Undertaker, I think that should clarify who has left the bigger mark, even when he retires people will still miss the vibe that The Undertaker brings into the arena.

Yes I was talking about those guys, and all those wrestlers you mention, put on the worst match with The Undertaker.
