Why are people so fascinated with celebrity's lives?

I don't get it. Do people not have a life of there own to worry about that they have to be so concerned with a complete stranger. Every where you look, Brangalina, Oprah, soap stars. Why do people care about what someone they will never meet is having for lunch or who there dating?? Seriously, who gives a crap?
That's just weird.
 
I think because they have a life that a lot of people envy such as having a lot of money, people loving them because their good at singing,acting,sports or whatever,you know world wide knowledge of who they are,so i think people look up to them because they want to be loved by lots of people and have the ability to spend money on anything they like
 
People think that being rich and famous will make them happy.
