Why are people so obsessed with anime?

seriously it's like some peoples' lives. get over it. You can like what you want but dont make it your life and dont get all offended over it. and seriously stop wanting to go to Japan because of it. Japan is just like every other country. why do some people think in japan there's just a bunch of school girls giving peace signs or something. and people are like oh I like Japan music but only from anime. anime is cartoons, thats it why are people so obsessed?
