Why are religions opt out instead of opt in?

Also, how do they figure out the percentage of people in the world who are in a certain religion?

Kids don't have a choice, from young they are taught whatever their parents want them to. Most of the time it doesn't hurt, sometimes you get terrorists, other times, if a person leaves their religion, they lose all their friends from childhood.

I believe it's thru the census that is taken every so many years. As far as kids dont have a choice from what their parents teach them. That's a good thing. It doesn't matter if it's religion, morals without religion..it's the parents behaviors that determine the foundation of the child's life. ....as a rule...some of course fall into peer pressure....
