Why are the Kingdom Hearts series only on handheld these days?

Is there any reason why they decided to spread the series out to every system but the PS2/PS3? (ie. Cell phone, DS, PSP) If there's a quote or an article from Nomura telling why, tha'td be great.

Rumor was, they didn't want to make a PS3 game until prices came down. They wanted every PS2 person to have the chance to play the game(we all know that's just so they can get money).
By doing DS and cell phone and whatever, they appetize all the fans of Kingdom Hearts, and subdue them until the next big game comes out.

They are just broadening their scopes. I personally think it's pretty cool, the direction they took with it

My friend told me that Kingdom Hearts 3 would actually be released on the PS3. When, I have no idea. But I don't see why they wouldn't release another. They might just be keeping it a secret.
