Why can I hear out of my PS3 bluetooth but not speak into it?

you might have just accidentally muted it or turned off the mic volume .
check it in accessory settings / audio device settings to ensure it's still set as your input and output devices and see if it works when you test it , maybe even disconnect and reconnect it under bluetooth settings to see if that'll work
might as well try everything to get it working before replacing it .
otherwise you picked a good time to need a new headset because they've just redesigned the official ps3 headset to make it lighter , more comfortable and to enable synch to multiple devices at once so you could use it for a ps3 , cell phone and pc without having to reconnect every time . check the ps blog on the ps3 browser for an article about it .

My PS3 bluetooth was working fine, then I accideantly dropped it like 2 feet and now people can't hear me but I can hear them. Will I have to buy a new one if I want people to hear me?

Yes. You broke a component inside your bluetooth that is critical for working properly. My husband found that it saved him money to buy a bluetooth that was compatable with all his bluetooth devices. He bought a jawbone prime bluetooth. He uses that for his PS3, cellphone and gps.
