Why can't I upgrade the new OS 5 ON MY BLACKBERRY 8900 CURVE?

when i go on options > wireless update
it says there are no updates available
even on my desktop software it says I am currently on OS 4 but there are no updates available.
when I downloaded the OS 5 onto my desktop it still says there are no updates.
please can someone help, I'm really frustrated.
I know there's an OS 6 too but at the moment I'm trying to get OS 5 to see if it works.
And yes I'm downloading it from the blackberry website
 
Download it directly from the Blackberry website. Also make sure your running the current desktop version. You say the "New" OS5, your not confusing it with OS6 are you? OS5 has been around a long time now.
