when i go on options > wireless update
it says there are no updates available
even on my desktop software it says I am currently on OS 4 but there are no updates available.
when I downloaded the OS 5 onto my desktop it still says there are no updates.
please can someone help, I'm really frustrated.
I know there's an OS 6 too but at the moment I'm trying to get OS 5 to see if it works.
And yes I'm downloading it from the blackberry website.
I have the new desktop software too.
I have even tried this:
You can do an update without an active subscription by doing a "stealth" OS reload.
1.Deleted the Vendor.xml file located at c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
Run Loader.exe from that directory.
2. Pull the battery from my device, and put it back in. Plug in the BB and IMMEDIATELY click the "next" button - here's where you want to make sure the port shows USB: UNKNOWN.
If it shows the PIN, you were too slow. Try again.
Basically, you're loading an OS from the bottom up. There is no "backup/restore" available for this. You'll lose everything on the device.
But it will work."
but when I try and do step 2 above, but the "next" button doesn't work :/
please please please can someone help!!

http://uk.blackberry.com/support/downloads/
