Why do certain rants get pulled from Y/A but not others?

I've been using Y/A for almost 4 years now and i've noticed that in certain categories that if Level 7 TC's want to post a rant cleverly worded as a question to rag on newbies and such that it's acceptable even condoned in certain spots on here and if their questions are reported they aren't pulled. but if a Level 1 newbie posts a rant and a Level 7 reports it,, it's gone in a few minutes? Doesn't this seem like a hypocritical double standard to you guys? I was appauled to see that a group of Level 7's who run a paticular category can post whatever they like without reprecussions or fear or report, one of these Level 7's even brags in their profile that they have an email address that goes directly to Yahoo Answers Staff and not to harass her because she will get your account deleted, does this not seem unfair to anyone else? I was under the impression that the rules of posting rants/spam/ect..applied to everyone and all levels of Y/A contributers not just newbies and < Level 3's it's really sad to see how a clique of people can monoploize a category and run it how they want without regard to the rules unless they approve of them. Now not all categories have this problem i have posted in a variety of areas from car repair, to home deco, to pets and there are certain categories i notice this in more than others. I guess my question here comes down to who do you email/call/contact about this? Is there even a way to? I try to be fair and play by the rules on Y/A but when i see Level 7 contributers ganging up on newb's and lower levels just because they don't like what they post it really makes me think this whole Y/A community is just like a big high school...The rules should apply to everyone or you shouldn't be allowed to post... I'll get off my soapbox now but i really want to know, who can you talk to/email about stuff like this?
Well i used that emaile and sent a detailed message of the violation and how it needs to be pulled, fingers crossed that they'll listen. But yeah the Pets section with the Dog category in paticular is nuts these days...

It all depends on what is reported. You talk about a difference in who is doing the posting - what it really comes down to is who is reporting. People who use often may become "trusted reporters" which means they have undue power over others because they report often. I don't know if level influences this, as the algorithms are either a trade secret or are completely subjective.

Yes I do see that often. Especially in what I call "troll categories" where chatting and ranting occur about 15:1 with real questions, and trolls are commonplace, though there are various degrees of category quality. To be honest, there is nothing you can do against a mob of trolls, especially one allowed to run rampant so long that they've all gotten to level 7.

If this is true I'll quit right now. Yahoo has enough problems without blatant corruption. But, I would assume it's a malicious fib from that user unless proven otherwise.

[who do you email/call/contact about this?]
Technically, you are supposed to either
a.) report their material, and provide additional information in the field or
b.) tell [email protected]
you could also try
c.) positing on the suggestion board, though posts about problematic users may be removed by staff.

Now I haven't had any luck at all with either of those for especially problematic users, so who knows?
