why do christians try to SHOVE their religion onto people?

I was driving home today and a man in a suit and an orange vest is running up and down the highway in a suit with an bright orange vest on with some sign with a bible verse screaming out BELIEVE IN GOD AND BE SAVED... I am not religious because I dont think that you need to do all that non sense in order to be a good person but seeing people like this man just make me think wow, they're crazy and it makes me want to stay as far away from being a christian as possible.

Same reason if you were in a burning building and someone shoved you out the door to safety. The world we live in is getting crazy and the young people are going to hell in a hand basket. I personally would not run around doing it that way, but this man feels inclined to get the message out fast. Christians believe that we are in the end times, no one knows the day or hour of Christs return, but most Christian believe it is soon. Where are you going eternally. By not heeding the message of salvation is like telling a fireman to hit the road when you are in a burning building. Basically you are tossing out your salvation because one man offend you. What a dreadful thought to go to hell on.
