If you think that straights are equally at risk of contracting AIDS, then you think that lesbians are equally at risk. Anal sex which involves a rectum with a thin layer which tears frequently and bleeds and is a cesspool of waste and feces is the culprit with gay men and AIDS. It is only about 5% of gay men who do not have anal sex.

Why lie, but take millions of dollars for AIDS research and call it a gay disease when you have AIDS marches? 8 times as many people die of cancer, so why lie?

Erm, excuse my use of the term "Everyone." When I said everyone, I was contrasting homosexuals with straights. That is after all, what your question was about, was it not? Obviously lesbians probably have less of a risk. As do those who are celibate. And Infants. And Dogs. My point was, that penetrative sex is what usually causes aids. I figured a thing called "common sense" would kick in for you, and I wouldn't have to spell everything out.

The fact is, if you sleep around and have unprotected sex, you have an equal chance of contracting an STD. That's how STD's are spread..through unprotected sex.

Didn't you go to sex ed?

Don't put words in people's mouths. Only in the US is the percentage of gay men with HIV/AIDS that high. The rest of the world it is heterosexual people.

AIDS marches do not exclude anybody. Whoever wants to participate can. I have a straight friend who is HIV positive, she was born with it. She goes to AIDS marches.

C.G. if you want to focus on the world then we can. If your straight friend was born with AIDS, then it got in her system some how. If through her parents, then trace the source. There is no AIDS gene, so she was infected.

There has never been a person, in America, who got AIDS without an indirect association with homosexuals. I have never been specifically tested for AIDS, no need, but my recenthealth exam shows no virus whatsoever. I also have never gotten a STD and I am over 50.

So, DaveK, why do you think that it is gay people who are at fault for straight people having unprotected sex?

Straight people having unprotected vaginal sex does not directly lead to AIDS and the risk is low unless you run in gay circles and share partners.
