Why do I keep getting disconnected when playing xbox live?

Whenever i play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 or Call of Duty: Black ops i keep getting Disconnected when i host or get chosen to host a game. My NAT type is Open and the router i use is 'Netgear CG814WG'. I suspect the problem is my router is too crap to handle the bandwidth, or it wont recognize my Xbox on the network and keeps kicking it off. Also my ISP is Optus in Australia.

Please someone help me, I've had this problem for 2 years and i cant take it anymore!!!
 
Ah, i had the same problem a while back.. your xbox is having trouble obtaining your ip address i believe.

It could also be your router connection.


Everyone gets disconnected sometimes, i advise you to get a new router, a better internet company, or just bare through it,

I fixed my problem by playing FPS's on PS3 x)

worked for me.
