There are lots of times where i've heard people saying you have to do this cos your a christian even though the bible doesnt say you should.
i dont feel comfortable doing lots of christian things and people make me feel bad for it but from my eyes it seems like people have time for their religion, not their God.

because their god does not exist. this is why they have to continue to have bible studies and bible groups, all they have is their bible, no god directs them.

You're referring to Catholicism, my friend and possibly right-wing Christian doctrine churches. This should not a prime factor for you to sway from God. Protestanism with the right mentality, a balanced mentality, is the key to learning the word of God. Follow the teachings.

that's why there are denominations of Christians you fall under what you believe, if you believe alcohol is bad and you are a catholic then maybe rethink your denomination, i understand what you are saying but maybe your idea of what God wants from us is different from someone else that is why there are denominations

"Media sells it, you play the role!" Ozzy Osbourne

Some of the few wise words from Ozzy. He may be crazy, but he is probably a follower of God.

The word "Christian" is over used. I'm calling myself believer and follower of Jesus. Christian has become more of a mindset now in my eyes.

It's a relationship not a religion.

Your objections are correct sadly, for many churches today. Many churchians, have much in common with ‘Atheists’ morality’. The atheist desperately asserts “no evidence God exists” just as the churchian merely seeks the “fire insurance” of religious performance, “just in case” there really is Day of Judgment. There is no difference; they both lack genuine repentance & faith using different forms of denial. Many churches today have lost the necessity of following Jesus' teachings, most of all, repentance and turning from sin, clinging to an easy 'just believe' message that is no different than a 5 year-old’s believing in the tooth fairy. In doing that, is where you get the hypocrisy – lives that were never truly changed, transformed by the understanding that Jesus took the punishment your sins deserved on His cross.
Confess your sins to God right now, sorry from your heart, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from them in faith trusting that only Jesus’ sufferings on the cross will be accepted by your Father in Heaven for the punishment your sins deserved. Everyday you delay you store up more of God’s wrath against you. Read how the Bible says to be right with God, Matthew 4:17; Luke 24:46-47; Romans 2:4-5; Romans 3:23-24; James 2:10; Hebrews 9:27; 1 John 1:8-9; Romans 5:8; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 10:13; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 3:18; John 3:36; 1 John 5:11-13 ~ www.GodsLoveProven.com “So then, each of us will give an account of them self to God”.
