Why do many people who are non muslims always make fun of Islam?

I am muslim, and you dont know in how many places ive seen people make fun of islam, my religion. But why would they do that? The biggest terrorist IS America and not Afghanistan. US is fighting there and killing many lives many times, and they never give Afghanistan a chance or Iraq. This is only an example, and please tell me why they are so cruel. I will gladly give a best answer to someone.
