Why do most people assume that "religion" in R&S ALWAYS relates to Christianity?

So many times I've seen people asking religious questions in R&S and for some reason the Christians take over with their bible quotes. Why do they always assume that if a question is posted in R&S then it simply HAS to relate to Christianity?
OK, I think people are getting carried away a bit. Let me rephrase:

Why does it seem as if the R&S section (because of answers provided) should be labeled "Christians vs Athiests"?

I've tried to ask questions about Paganism on R&S and all I'll get is messages from Christians demanding that I repent and save my soul.

My point is that if I ask a question about Paganism and need advise about Paganism, Christians can't help. Yet they try to help in their own way by telling me to "deliver myself from evil" or whatever!

We normally respond with a religion we can associate with. Would you prefer if we responded with quotes from the FSM Bible?

It works both ways! I just came from a post about a mother who did something bad that didn't mention any faith, and everyone just assumed she must be a Christian in all her attacks on her and on the Christian faith. Even when no-one mentions a faith, they like to use it as an excuse to show how much they hate Christians. I don't assume that people are necessarily referring to Christianity, but if they are asking me about my opinions on religion and spirituality and I'm a Christian, well, it's a bit obvious that I'll be responding from a Christian perspective. Same way that atheists answer from an atheist perspective.

Ego, the Christians have a bloated ego. They move into an area and call it Christian when it is not. They murdered they way across the world and now they want respect... they have got to be a joke.

Practicing Shaman... quantum physics rocks

I think it's fair to say that most people on this board are Christian so they will view a question in those terms. Number 2 would be atheists/agnostics.

ha, funny thing, i assumed you were talking about theist Qs that make no mention of a specific religion being criticized by atheists and agns that assumed it was christian related. oops

I'm REALLY glad you asked! I'm a non-Christian theist, and it can get frustrating when folks automatically assume that any question that either I or any other theist asks is automatically a Christian question.

If I asked what I <REALLY> wanted to know, no one would answer the question without insulting my religion because it's not Christian.

Even Christianity shouldn't be religious. It is a relationship with Christ, an experience. People make it religious.

...Using Bible quotes is taking over?

They just relate the question to their own beliefs.

Its one of those things where it would be irrational for a religious person to have religious beliefs, but then assume religious beliefs are wrong, therefore choosing to express a contrary belief.

Some more liberal spiritual beliefs assume that their beliefs are a piece of the truth but not a complete answer. They are less likley to give a bunch of quotes.

*Edit* With additional details, next time you post a Pagan question insead of asking the question put "pagans only please" as the question and ask the actual question in the details, then ignore anyone who does not follow the rules of your question.
