Why do newsgroups cost money?--How much faster are they then torrents?

Huh? Your question doesn't make any sense. What do you mean by "newsgroups"? And how could you compare them to torrents, since they serve completely different purposes? And what does it mean to ask how fast a newsgroup is?!
