Why do so many people bash other people's music?

If you like it, then you like it. So why does it matter?
I mean, I can understand not liking some music. Some music is just bad.
But if you like it, I'm not gonna be telling you that you have horrible taste and deserve to die or something.
What makes people like that?

It wouldn't make you slightly angry comparing Jimi Hendrix to Justin Bieber and people saying that Bieber is just as talented?

People inherently want other people to like what they like. We all believe that our taste is the best, because if it wasn't the best, we wouldn't like it...right? Unless you have self esteem problems.

That aside, sometimes we just get tired of hearing the music that we think sucks.

I will agree with you on the first part. Everyone has their own taste and if you want to bash the music then do it with people who will bash it with you, not the people who will be bashed.

But sometimes people with bad taste need to know it. Sure they like what they like and I like what I like, but if this person honestly believes that what they listen to is better than anything else then we have serious problems. If they brag about the band all the time like they are GOD then someone should tell them.

I think the music I listen to is awesome, and I don't like anything else, but I recognize the talent and the effort and everything else that is in the music. But sometimes I don't like the reasons, or the methods or the people or the lyrics or what they stand for or whatever, but I keep it to myself unless a fan of one of those bands comes around acting like they are more talented that the most talented musicians you can think of.

Many people find it necessary to voice their opinion on a subject, and quite frequently the subject is music. A lot of people want to feel better about the music they listen to and may feel insecure about it, so they decide to bash the music that other people like only because other people like it. They respond in the "go die" fashion to anyone that doesn't listen to what they listen to, just ignore it because they don't know how to properly critique music.
